'Empire' the game that launched by Jay-Z, still in beta, allows users to follow in the footsteps of one of the most famous rappers in the U.S., from the slums of Brooklyn to the highest fame. The summary of the new Jay-Z video game, still being tested by Complex, could not be more clear: get in the skin of a colored boy from the slums and go climbing to wealth and fame.

Announced about a year ago, the arrival of the series Tron: Uprising is imminent. There are still many details to resolve this universe after what we showed Legacy, but what seems even more serious is that the very future of the series may depend on the success of this series. Designed exclusively to Disney XD channel, Tron: Uprising features an excellent cast, and with an animation that should appeal to more than one, but will that be enough?
Tron: Legacy divided the waters much more than expected. Personally I considered satisfactory experience to see her, but perhaps I was a little infected by the "expectation" of greatness that had formed around the film, and perhaps never fully materialized. In terms of box office, Legacy was comfortably in the green zone, and that includes heavy investment in advertising (120 million) that Disney made. The negative impact that can have an "excess" investment in advertising was registered through the recent "John Carter". The film did not lose the 200 million that Disney had anticipated, but the red was no longer important. In the case of Tron, were some doubts. The film certainly did not lose money, but officials did not seem entirely convinced to make a third film until a year ago. If we take the words of Bruce Boxleitner in the D23 Expo last year, Tron 3 is not only a fact, but would be released next year. Meanwhile, we have something closer to us.
And that something is Tron: Uprising, a number of which we spoke in August 2011, the month in which D23 was done above. Technically there are over twenty years between the disappearance of Kevin Flynn and the events of Legacy, twenty years in which you can have not one but several stories (such as comics and games Evolution Betrayal and Battle Grids). Our readers probably remember the details related to Uprising: Clu 2 takes control of the Network, and a program named Beck assumes the role of rebel and Tron apprentice in order to overthrow the new digital tyrant. Obviously we know that Clu 2 achieved remain in power, but the desire to see how Disney will develop the story has not gone Uprising in the year that we've been waiting for.
Elijah Wood, Mandy Moore, and two almost mythical beings in Hollywood and science fiction such as Bruce Boxleitner and Lance Henriksen are in the cast of Tron: Uprising, the format of ten episodes has been confirmed, like his first release for June. Disney XD is still the exclusive channel through which to transmit Uprising, but I imagine that their arrival to other media is just a matter of time. At one point he believed that the success or failure of Uprising define the continuity of the Tron franchise. His awakening in 2010 was not unsuccessful, but we know how these things: Hollywood is greedy, and if there are ten digits in the box office, it is difficult to maintain interest. Everything will be clarified when Uprising makes its debut on the screen.

According to Deadline, the Academy award nominated actress has landed the lead role of Princess Diana in Ecosse Films' "Caught in Flight."
The film will chronicle the last two years of Diana's life as both a humanitarian and campaigner.
"It is such an honor to be able to play this iconic role -- Princess Diana was loved across the world, and I look forward to rising to the challenge of playing her on screen," Watts said in a statement.
It appears that the fantasies of many libidinous male soccer fans (and many non fans, presumably) have been answered as the fetching goalkeeper of the U.S. Women's National Team, Hope Solo, hinted on her twitter account on Tuesday that she will pose naked in the famed "Body Issue" of ESPN The Magazine.
"The Body Issue" features male and female professional athletes posing naked in a tasteful fashion. Last year's issue had photos of Serena Williams, Dwight Howard and Adrian Peterson in the buck, among many others.
As she recently told The Huffington Post's Jordan Schultz, Solo has been very busy in recent weeks following the conclusion of the Women's World Cup, in which her U.S. team was defeated in the final by Japan.
"I flew to LA when most people went home, and I did the media circuit there," she told The Huffington Post. "I think that's our responsibility; I need to keep the awareness of the game out there, but I also need to thank our fans."
Despite the tremendous outpouring of support the team received during the World Cup and the tireless efforts of Solo and her teammates since returning home, the Women's Professional Soccer League continues to struggle, seemingly unable to carry the World Cup interest over to the domestic league.
Perhaps, Solo can generate another wave of momentum, and probably keep the marriage proposals piling up, by posing naked for ESPN The Magazine.
The eldest daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver says she fled to London after her parents separated, in part to escape a storm of unwanted attention.
Katherine Schwarzenegger tells Harper's Bazaar magazine she wanted to "go away and realize that it's not as big a deal in other places."
Shriver and the former Republican governor are in the midst of a divorce, after Arnold Schwarzenegger confirmed in May he fathered an out-of-wedlock child with a former housekeeper.
Their 21-year-old daughter never mentions her now-teenaged half-brother in the interview, while discussing what she calls "definitely a difficult time."
She says she tries "not to care about what other people ... think," but adds she's been consoled by Twitter messages from supporters.
She tells the magazine, "I've always been way closer to my mom."

There was a time when Joe Jonas was rumored to be an opener for Britney Spears on her Femme Fatale Tour. Well, it seems that rumor turned out to be true — for one date, at least. Jonas tweeted Friday (July 29) that he's opening for Spears at her August 5 stop in New Jersey.
"This just in ... I will be performing at the @BritneySpears concert in NJ on Aug 5," the Jersey native wrote. Just last week, it was announced that DJ Pauly D will also appear on several dates of the tour, which also features Nicki Minaj, Nervo and Jessie and the Toy Boys.
Jonas also shared in the same tweet that the release date for his forthcoming debut album has been delayed. He added, "And get ready for #FastLife in stores Oct. 11."
Fast Life was originally slated to hit stores September 6, but fans will have to wait an additional few weeks to hear what the middle Jonas Brother has up his sleeve on the long-simmering solo project.
Jonas was recently spotted in Paris shooting the music video for the album's second single, "Just In Love With You." He was seen getting cozy with a model at various locations in the City of Lights. The song is a follow-up to his single "See No More," written by Chris Brown.
While fans might have to wait a little longer to hear what Jonas has been working so hard on, he has made it clear that this album is all about them. "I was really excited," he told MTV News about hearing fans' comments about his first solo song. "I love the world we live in where you can know what people are thinking right away."
At Quicken Loans arena Tuesday night, Britney Spears drove into the center of the stage perched atop the windshield of a pink convertible Mini Cooper with a stripper pole erected in its back seat. Attached to that pole was a guy she'd pulled from the audience named Greg, a daddy-ish type in a blue polo shirt. His hands tied behind his back, he had to sit still while Brit wrapped her fishnet-clad thighs around his neck. I got nine lives like a kitty cat." That lyric, from "How I Roll," a nonsensical yet sizzling new single, is hardly hyperbole.
Once written off as the punch line to jokes about washed up superstars, Brit is back - washboard abs and all. The K-Fed loving, paparazzi-whacking, head-shaving antics of years ago are ancient history. With "Femme Fatale," her new No. 1 album, two Video Music Award nominations and a kinetic summer tour, the 29-year-old mother of two is thumbing her darling, turned-up nose at all the haters out there and dancing her toned bum off. They wore naughty Catholic school girl plaid mini skirts and white button-down shirts knotted just under the bosom, hot pants and stilettos. There were more tanned thighs and exposed navels on display than spring break in Cancun.
The Femme Fatale Tour was a decidedly estrogen-heavy affair with opening acts Nervo - twin Aussie DJs who also model on the side, one with pink hair gelled into a "Heat Meiser" do - and Jessie and the Toy Boys, a Britney look-alike flanked by leaping dudes in fluffy mohawks. But the intergalactic girl power passion play put on by Nicki Minaj turned the arena into a full-out rave. Minaj, in a platinum wig and black body suit festooned with glittery pipe cleaner shooting from her pelvis and shoulders gyrated and sweated as she battled a faux foe in black fright wig and what appeared to be the rubber mask worn by the villain Jigsaw in all those "Saw" movies. As Britney cycled through hits new and old - a Geisha version of "Toxic," "Womanizer," "Slave 4 U" - she seemed more like the girl that first burst onto the scene with "Baby One More Time." Repeating "I love you, Cleveland" and waving coquettishly, she was happy, flirty and fun, not what some critics called "the robot Brit" of last tour, just going through the slick, choreographed motions with little heart. She returned to the stage to take her bows, laughing like a little girl, "glitterfetti" raining down.
The premiere of “The Smurfs” took place at the Ziegfeld Theater on July 24, 2011 in New York City.
“When the evil wizard Gargamel chases the tiny blue Smurfs out of their village, they tumble from their magical world and into ours — in fact, smack dab in the middle of Central Park. Just three apples high and stuck in the Big Apple, the Smurfs must find a way to get back to their village before Gargamel tracks them down.” Written by Columbia Pictures
Twentieth Century Fox is set to allow Android smartphone and tablet owners to view the studio's Blu-ray movies on their mobile devices.
The move will see movies 'side loaded' via an Android application in a launch due in the US, UK, Germany and France this October.
The Blu-ray movie to be made available on Android devices is to be "X-Men: First Class"
"Given its strong growth as a mobile operating system, the support for Android is an important move for us because it further enhances Blu-ray discs as the best way to get your movies to all your screens," Fox marketing veep Vincent Marcais told the Financial Times.
It's not known if Fox will make digital copies of movies for sale separately from Blu-ray discs.
Troubled singer Amy Winehouse, whose struggle with drink and drugs overshadowed her sultry musical talents, has been found dead at her flat in north London, emergency services said. She was 27.
The Grammy award-winning soul singer with her trademark beehive battled with well-documented addictions that she documented in her hit single "Rehab". Her death is being treated as unexplained, police said.
Winehouse rocketed to fame after winning five Grammy awards off the back of her 2006 second album "Back to Black" and the hit single "Rehab."
The singer had a European comeback tour schedule but pulled out following a disastrous opening performance in Serbia on June 18.
In the run-up to her live return, Winehouse spent a week at an addiction treatment clinic in London, reportedly at the suggestion of her father, Mitch, over concerns that she was drinking too much.
But she was booed at the opening performance in Belgrade, apparently too drunk to sing.
"Amy Winehouse is withdrawing from all scheduled performances," a statement from her representatives said.
"Everyone involved wishes to do everything they can to help her return to her best and she will be given as long as it takes for this to happen."
Known for her distinctive voice and beehive hairstyle, Winehouse's debut album "Frank" was released in 2003 and brought her wide acclaim. It went triple platinum in Britain.
The follow-up, "Back to Black", was a worldwide smash hit, reaching number one in Britain and number two in the US charts. It went six times platinum in Britain and double platinum in the United States.

Google has joined forces with the most famous wizard in the world, Harry Potter, which could mean a big boost for two of its services while also resulting in a huge missed opportunity for Apple and PayPal. The partnership with the new Pottermore website by Harry Potter author JK Rowling will make the e-book version of the seven Harry Potter books available on Google's eBooks reader. The deal also makes Google's payment service Google Checkout the official third-party form of payment for Pottermore. By partnering with Google eBooks, Rowling has found a way to put her seven highly-in-demand books on smartphones, tablets, e-readers and computers without having to split the sales with companies such as Apple or Amazon, who typically keep about 30% of sales. Rowling's distribution method gives publisher's more leverage when it comes to selling e-books, said Craig Vodnik, chief blogger for BuildingKeystones.com, a blog about digital product e-commerce.
"It could be a really, really big deal if this works out based off the titles she's written and she's just so well-known," he said. "From the publisher's perspective it's a big deal because it could give them some control over how they distribute their products." Vodnik said Google landing Rowling is similar to when Apple finally got the Beatles on their iTunes catalog. In what must have been the tradeoff in the deal, Google's payment service Google Checkout appears to be the only way besides debit or credit cards to purchases the books from Pottermore. The inclusion of Google Checkout is a huge snub for PayPal, the original and most used third-party payment service online.
Instead, Google Checkout will be exposed to millions of Harry Potter fans looking to buy digital versions of the wizard stories. In the last few months, Google has been strengthening its push into the e-commerce and mobile payment fields, announcing recently it had begun testing a service called Google Wallet, which allows consumers to pay using their Android phones using a technology called NFC. The Harry Potter books could become the most purchased e-books upon their release if the franchise's performance at the box office and at book stores are any indication. The final Harry Potter film had the best opening of all time, scoring $168.6 million in the U.S. and Canada in three days. Four years ago, the last Harry Potter book had a similar release, selling 8.3 million copies in its first day, according to Guinness World Records.

The singer's nods include video of the year for Firework, best pop video and best special effects. British singer Adele and Kanye West picked up seven nominations apiece. I thought that was a typo or something," the star told MTV. In the video of the year category - considered to be the most prominent award of the night - Perry will compete alongside Adele, Mars, the Beastie Boys and Tyler, The Creator. After a record-breaking 13 nominations last year, Lady Gaga received just three. Mars and West will do battle in the best male video category, alongside Justin Bieber, Cee-Lo Green and Eminem. And Perry, Adele and Mars will take on Britney Spears and Pitbull in the battle for best pop video.
It's been all about pool parties and bikinis for Katie Holmes this summer! And there's nothing wrong with that—sounds like a pretty fabulous time to us.
But with every snapshot of this bathing-suit-clad babe, the buzz has been building about how thin Katie's been appearing...
This weekend, while hubby Tom Cruise was busy filming Rock of Ages, the 32-year-old actress stripped down into a skimpy black bikini before hopping into a Miami Beach hotel pool with 6-year-old Suri—and revealing a whole lot of, er, ribcage in the process.
Maybe Katie was just sucking in for a second or flexing her abs?
We knew that Marvel had been planning to release a trailer for The Avengers, and assumed that it would play this weekend in front of Captain America: The First Avenger. It just makes sense, after all the word “Avenger” is in the title. In fact there had been reports that it may be shown at the very end of the movie, in the closing credits, which begs the question… what is this?
The following video has popped up all over YouTube tonight. It appears to be some sort of leaked version of The Avengers trailer, but since Captain America hasn’t been released yet and The Avengers trailer definitely hasn’t, you have to wonder where the heck it came from. There were a handful of special Cap press screenings held in LA today, but our own Eric Eisenberg was there and reported back that the post-credits footage wasn't shown to the press. Even if it were, those are usually so heavily policed it’s hard to imagine would be dumb enough to try and recording anything in those, much less get away with it.
So with all that said, we’re not quite sure what this is, or where it came from. It may be The Avengers trailer set to be shown after Captain America this weekend… which may mean it’s a spoiler and you shouldn’t watch it. But… maybe not. So here’s a warning…
WARNING! The following may be a Captain America: The First Avenger spoiler. Click play at your own risk.
Elin Nordegren, Tiger Woods' ex-wife who divorced the superstar golfer after discovering that he had been having multiple affairs, appears to have a new man in her life, according to the New York Post.
Nordegren has been dating Jamie Dingman, the son of billionaire Michael Dingman, for months, according to the Post.
The former Swedish model, 31, divorced Woods in August, almost a year ago, and reportedly received a settlement of around $100 million and joint custody of the couple's two children, the Telegraph reported. A confidentiality agreement was also part of the divorce settlement.
Dingman, an emerging-markets specialist, divides his time between China and the Bahamas and reportedly has had at least one rendezvous with Nordegren in Florida and at her luxury apartment in Stockholm, Sweden, according to the New York Post.
Dingman has been linked with Bridget Moynahan, the mother of football star Tom Brady's baby, and with Princess Madeleine of Sweden, but the New York Post says that he wasn't romantically involved with the princess, citing sources.
TMZ said that a Swedish photo agency approached staff members with photographs of the Dingman and Nordegren kissing and embracing outside her apartment in Sweden. TMZ said their employees saw the photos, but the photo agency decided to hold on to them for the moment.
Nordegren herself is very private. Swedes like to say that she embodies everything Swedish: humble, shy, discrete, independent, sporty, down to earth and liberal, according to GlobalPost. But her marriage to Woods exposed her to a very un-Swedish fame.
Nordegren has made it a policy to shun the media, and her family and friends have supported this, also refusing to make comments to the media.
Just a week after Eminem's "Recovery" became the first album to sell 1 million digital downloads in the U.S., now Adele's "21" has hit the milestone, according to Nielsen SoundScan. And, "21" goes further -- as it surpasses "Recovery's" digital tally.
"21," which was released on Feb. 22, becomes the U.S.' second million-selling digital album, the fastest set to do so, and the first by a woman to achieve the feat. With another 25,000 downloads sold of "21," its digital sales now stand at 1,017,000 while "Recovery's" download tally is 1,005,000.
Eminem's 'Recovery' Becomes First Album to Sell 1 Million Downloads
"21" continues to reign as the year's best selling album overall, too, with 2.6 million copies sold in the U.S. It has spent 10 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and has yet to see a week where it has ranked lower than No. 3.
Its first single, "Rolling in the Deep," crowned the Billboard Hot 100 chart for seven weeks earlier this year. Adding to its accolades, this week it became the year's best selling digital song, with 4.23 million sold. Katy Perry's "E.T." (featuring Kanye West) was previously the year's highest-selling song, and now falls to the No. 2 position, with 4.19 million sold.
Adele recently announced a series of rescheduled tour dates after she had to postpone them due to illness. The slate of shows begin on Aug. 9 in Vancouver, and includes newly added gigs in San Diego, Las Vegas and Miami, among other locales.
Demi Lovato is out of rehab -- and has changed her life for the better. The 18 year-old sat down with Ryan Seacrest to talk about her struggles, and how music keeps her going. Here’s the scoop from E! News:
“I wasn’t going to continue to be alive if I continued to treat my body the way I was,” she said. Demi entered rehab last October for help with anorexia, bulimia and cutting.
“It’s a daily journey and it’s definitely going to be a struggle that I’ll have to deal with for the rest of my life,” she admitted. “Sometimes I think, ‘Why couldn’t I have been normal?’”
“I’m not going to be perfect, but…if I can make it through the day, that’s all that matters,” she said. She actually recorded two versions of her latest single, “Skyscraper,” one when her voice was weaker, and one post-rehab. Ultimately, they decided to go with the first one. “For me it was…so symbolic,” Demi said.
We’re so happy you’re back, girl!
The 18-year-old Disney Channel alumna, who said her family had known about her eating issues for six years, has had the words "stay" and "strong" tatooed over self-mutilation scars on her wrists.
Why does it all too often take so long to recognize and deal with a problem such as an eating disorder? Lovato called her situation the "elephant in the room."
It's certainly true that being immersed in an environment that values thinness at a premium probably doesn't help matters much.
But it may also be that people suffering from eating disorders actually tend to cling to them. A 2009 study published in the American Journal of Psychiatry compared patients' responses to a rapid-response visual test and found that anorexic patients tend to stick to "familiar" behavioral responses more often than healthy subjects do.
Thus, they're less likely to engage in an "alternative" behavior -- such as breaking out of the vicious cycle of eating disorders.
