Director of Kony wandering naked hospitalized

The director of Kony in 2012 , this mini-documentary became viral, was arrested Thursday and hospitalized after a public disturbance, wandering naked through the streets of San Diego.

The American Jason Russell, 33, a devout Christian, father of two and co-founder of the nonprofit organization Invisible Children, would have had a very strange behavior according to San Diego police. It would have been vandalizing cars, would have masturbated in public and was under the influence of substances.



"He had never had a problem with the police but, in the evaluation, we realized we probably needed that we take care of him. Officers have therefore taken into custody and then transferred it to a local medical facility for further evaluation and treatment, "said the Lieutenant Andra Brown.

According to Ben Keesey, the head of the NGO Invisible Children, Jason Russell was hospitalized for exhaustion, dehydration and malnutrition. "The last two weeks have been full of emotions for us all and this was demonstrated by the unfortunate incident yesterday. Jason has done so much to help people, we are devastated to see him deal with personal problems. "

The same day, at a screening organized by the African Youth Initiative Network (AYINET) in Lira town, the video viewed more than 80 million times in two weeks provoked the wrath of thousands of Ugandans. The controversial 30-minute documentary exposes the activities of Joseph Kony, a warlord at the head of Uganda's Lord's Resistance Army (LRA). Wanted by the International Criminal Court, they are accused of raping or killing thousands of civilians and have reduced thousands of children in slavery since the 80s.
