Wireless charging - the future for electric cars

It's electric, and like all battery-operated automobiles needs regular charging. "The charging is done wirelessly, you park up, turn off the key and voila... charging starts automatically," says Anthony Thomson, CEO of HaloIPT, a UK company that has installed the technology. The process uses electromagnetic induction to transfer power from a pad built into the ground to another installed in the bottom of the car. The system could be installed in a supermarket parking place, garage floor or the ground at a special charging station. When a driver parks the vehicle, the two pads line up and with a flick of a switch, the charging starts.

Texas executes 9/11 'revenge' killer

A man who embarked on a shooting spree in what he claimed was retaliation for 9/11 has been executed at a prison in Texas. The lone survivor of Mark Stroman's attack on convenience store workers in late 2001, Rais Bhuiyan, originally from Bangladesh, unsuccessfully sued to stop the execution, saying his religious beliefs as a Muslim required him to forgive the man. Stroman claimed the shooting spree that killed two men and injured a third targeted people from the Middle East, though all three victims were from south Asia. It was the death of 49-year-old Vasudev Patel, from India, that put Stroman on death row. Stroman's execution was the eighth this year in Texas.

Mac OS X Lion pounces

As promised, Apple let Mac OS X Lion out of its cage this morning. Version 10.7 of the operating system has more than 250 new features, Apple said, but an installation disc isn't one of them: it's available today for $29.99 as a 3.49GB download only. Apple enjoys pushing the computing industry into the future by dropping technology it deems to be from the past-for example floppy drives missing from the first iMac-and those who want a real-world copy of the OS will have to wait until Apple releases it on a USB thumb drive next month for $69. The Mac OS X download, available through the Mac App Store, dovetails with Apple's new MacBook Air and Mac Mini Lion-based computers. These new models are updated with Intel's modern Sandy Bridge processors and a high-speed Thunderbolt data transfer port-and none has a DVD drive for the next OS upgrade.

Google+ For iPhone Now The Top Free App In iTunes

Google+ for iPhone hit Apple's App Store a mere 24 hours ago but it's being downloaded like wildfire as it currently sitting atop the heap as the most popular free app available from iTunes. This is big news considering Google+ is still invitation-only and only has 18 million users so far, compared to Facebook's 750 million. That said, Google+ users can now upload contacts from Outlook and Mac address books (not Facebook, though), which may result in even bigger Google+ adoption numbers.

Steve Jobs dismisses rumors of his successor

Apple CEO and cancer survivor Steve Jobs is not keen on discussing speculation about who will replace him when the inevitable happens. This week, the Wall Street Journal reported that the company's board of directors have been discussing plans about who will take over the position that has been held by Jobs since the late 1990s, and perhaps the title that some will always bestow upon Jobs and Jobs alone, once the man is no longer able to hold the position himself. The Journal said it had credible information that the board has already been meeting with headhunters and "at least one head of a high-profile technology company."

Launched in August 2004, the MESSENGER space probe has recently completed its main mission: one year exploration of the planet Mercury, the closest to the Sun. A surprisingly little-known planet, since MESSENGER was the first spacecraft to visit from the Mariner 10 in 1974.

Physics has actually conspired against the exploration of Mercury's powerful gravitational pull of the Sun makes that achieving the smallest planet in the solar system requires more energy and more skill that visit Mars, Jupiter and other giant planets Yet much more distant.

MESSENGER confirmed the presence of volcanic activity in the past of Mercury, and especially to discover solid evidence for the presence of a molten outer core, probably made of iron sulfide. This core would account for 85% of the diameter of the planet, which far exceeds that found on Earth. MESSENGER also helped capture more than 100,000 photos, calculate the relief of Mercury is less steep than the Moon or Mars, and determining that the bottom of the huge Caloris crater (a crater of 1 500 km in diameter) is now higher than its edges, suggesting a previously unsuspected tectonic activity.

MESSENGER will not be retiring anytime soon. An extended mission of at least one year, which aims to refine the data collected so far, is underway

The popular social networking site Facebook appears to have secured the services of 31 underwriters at a discount.  According to several reports of the English press, including the Bloomberg , Mark Zuckerberg had negotiated a fixed fee of 1.1% for this purpose, which is intended as a real bargain compared to fees charged normally.

The average rate charged at the 127 IPOs in 2011 would be 5.48% instead, according to Bloomberg.

If the company comes to getting 5 billion during the transaction, bankers and other underwriters to be able to provide and share 55 million USD (1.1% of the amount raised). A harvest of 10 billion is still possible and feasible, and would thus Bankers to the kitty still astronomical sum of 110 million USD.

Not so long ago that SEO experts reigned unchecked in the network of filling all optimizations and content prefabricated position, at that, Google wants to put limits and quality return.
Like a medieval paladin seeking justice because we are all equal, Google wants to take an ax to SEO enthusiasts and perfectionists of strategic positioning. Therefore, the leading search engine in the world are planning to penalize any website that is "too optimized", as declared by the team manager of Google web spam, Matt Cutts.

With these statements about search engine optimization or CEO, the engineer unveiled a new strategy from Google that could scare more than a web administrator . Google is planning to punish any website that is "too optimized" according to Cutts.
The times when it was written well, that is for the readers or users, ended when the web traffic was handled by more than 60-70% for Google. All contents flow through its robots. Thousands and thousands of searches every minute pass and are digested by Google, so, learn to know how to get "above", ie have better positioning became a key tool.
Now, later, Google wants to control all these "tricks" that help the positioning . Believes that the time to repeat words, using labels of dubious quality and the like have come to an end. If during 2011 was "Google Panda ', a new algorithm that we all were afraid, now it seems that the screen is equal or greater.
It may not be more than a "threat" to the experts in SEO and positioning let the true quality content flow, or that Google really intends to control this type of content. If so, is equally dangerous to be a private company that regulates the designs of positioning in the most used search engine in the West.
