Facebook launches photo application that competes with Instagram

The application, Facebook Camera, is free and opened only for IOS operating systems Apple, said the California company on his blog. The tool basically reproduces the process of posting photos on Facebook but incorporates some new features like the fact that it is possible to climb the social network multiple snapshots simultaneously.

Facebook Camera offers access to the pictures published by the user in their profile as well as charged by your contacts, is based on "tag", "like" and allows comment. The application includes editing software with a menu of predefined options very similar to that in Instagram.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in announcing the acquisition of Instagram that the objective of the operation was "to provide the best photo sharing experience" because that is "one of the reasons why so many people like Facebook ".

Technically the purchase of Instagram by Facebook is not complete and is awaiting approval by competition authorities in the U.S. Technological media in the U.S. are in direct competition Camera Facebook to Instagram that boasts over 30 million downloads on Apple devices and in 2011 was named the best application for iPhone, and now some analysts say the acquisition of a defensive move by the social network.

"Instagram was taking control over the photos on facebook mobile and could not wait and see how that company got every one of the users while they were still working on perfecting the Camera Facebook application," said Mike Isaac's blog All Things Digital Group The Wall Street Journal.

Isaac asks what place will Instagram when his integration into Facebook and if Facebook merged with Camera, which ruled the social network when it announced the purchase.
