It is a mobile, or nearly so, within a chamber. Or better, a camera attached to a mobile. Anyway, the new "toy" Samsung has all the features except voice calls, a Galaxy S3 and a high-performance compact camera. It is just the opposite of what we are accustomed. Everyone has a camera inside a mobile. Now we have a motive, or nearly so, within a chamber.

To call not (although they can do so via the Internet), but for everything else. This means that we can, first, edit, share or publish any photo immediately to do. And that between shots can check email, read the newspaper, play Angry Birds or run without problem any of the hundreds of thousands of applications from Android Play Store. To do this, the new camera can be connected directly to the internet via wifi or 3G via SIM card data.

But look. According Celestino Garcia, vice president of Samsung in Spain, Nielsen surveys or Gartner, among others, show that in 2014 50% of the cameras sold can connect to internet. Sharing pictures is, in fact, a social trend unstoppable and consumers demand to do so immediately, without waiting to connect at home and in good quality, which the majority of camera phones do not have.

Until now, consumers have had to choose between carrying a camera "good" (quality and performance) but "disconnected" or one that does allow the interaction (mobile) but often falls short.

That is precisely the gap that comes to fill the new Samsung device. On one hand, a more than decent performance (x21 optical zoom, 16 megapixel sensor ...) and on the other a huge 4.8-inch display (the Samsung Galaxy S3), direct Internet connection and Android OS 4.1 (Jelly Bean). The device, presented at the last edition of IFA in Berlin, was one of the products most interest this year in the technology fair. And no wonder.



The Galaxy Camera is powered by a quad-core processor at 1.4GHz and has a battery of 1,650 milliamps. Its internal memory of 8 GB, expandable via micro SD cards and comes as standard with a suite of applications that allow you to edit, share or store in the cloud any photo or video you do. For example, all new users of the camera will have 50GB of free storage on Dropbox.

When you open the camera menu opens automatically target and display screen becomes huge and with all the necessary commands on the touch screen. You can select scene, make panoramic photos bursts to make the camera select the best ... And, of course, incorporates a "expert" mode where you can change at will all the parameters we want to make the picture.

A highlight is the function of "shared Shot". Is to create a wireless network that can connect to other devices. Then, take the photo, also appear directly in the shared device. The new Samsung Galaxy Camera will be available in Spain since 29 November, both in shops and through various phone operators. The price is 499 euros.
