Tron: Uprising has a new trailer

Announced about a year ago, the arrival of the series Tron: Uprising is imminent. There are still many details to resolve this universe after what we showed Legacy, but what seems even more serious is that the very future of the series may depend on the success of this series. Designed exclusively to Disney XD channel, Tron: Uprising features an excellent cast, and with an animation that should appeal to more than one, but will that be enough?

Tron: Legacy divided the waters much more than expected. Personally I considered satisfactory experience to see her, but perhaps I was a little infected by the "expectation" of greatness that had formed around the film, and perhaps never fully materialized. In terms of box office, Legacy was comfortably in the green zone, and that includes heavy investment in advertising (120 million) that Disney made. The negative impact that can have an "excess" investment in advertising was registered through the recent "John Carter". The film did not lose the 200 million that Disney had anticipated, but the red was no longer important. In the case of Tron, were some doubts. The film certainly did not lose money, but officials did not seem entirely convinced to make a third film until a year ago. If we take the words of Bruce Boxleitner in the D23 Expo last year, Tron 3 is not only a fact, but would be released next year. Meanwhile, we have something closer to us.

And that something is Tron: Uprising, a number of which we spoke in August 2011, the month in which D23 was done above. Technically there are over twenty years between the disappearance of Kevin Flynn and the events of Legacy, twenty years in which you can have not one but several stories (such as comics and games Evolution Betrayal and Battle Grids). Our readers probably remember the details related to Uprising: Clu 2 takes control of the Network, and a program named Beck assumes the role of rebel and Tron apprentice in order to overthrow the new digital tyrant. Obviously we know that Clu 2 achieved remain in power, but the desire to see how Disney will develop the story has not gone Uprising in the year that we've been waiting for.

Elijah Wood, Mandy Moore, and two almost mythical beings in Hollywood and science fiction such as Bruce Boxleitner and Lance Henriksen are in the cast of Tron: Uprising, the format of ten episodes has been confirmed, like his first release for June. Disney XD is still the exclusive channel through which to transmit Uprising, but I imagine that their arrival to other media is just a matter of time. At one point he believed that the success or failure of Uprising define the continuity of the Tron franchise. His awakening in 2010 was not unsuccessful, but we know how these things: Hollywood is greedy, and if there are ten digits in the box office, it is difficult to maintain interest. Everything will be clarified when Uprising makes its debut on the screen.
